Tips & Tricks

Nursing or sleeping babies
To nurse, slide your baby close to the breast that you will nurse with. Pull the inside carrier fabric down to expose your breast and help your baby latch on. Smaller babies (or while you are getting the hang of it) will still probably need the support from one of your arms. For more private nursing or sleeping, place your baby towards the inside of the wide strip of fabric so that the outside fabric covers your baby and breast.

Example of a sling fitting too large:

Correct shoulder placement:
Notice how Peanut Shell® is evenly spread across the shoulder. Be sure that you have the fabric pulled up enough over your shoulder (as in the picture). It should not be falling down your arm.

If baby seems to be leaning a bit too far back, you can do a shoulder flip (as seen here). Also please look at how deep into the pouch the baby is sitting. This is very important so that the weight is not on the baby's legs. Create a deep seat in the pouch and be sure to pull the fabric all the way up to the back of baby's knees.

How to keep the pouch from sliding
If you find that the pouch slides slowly off the shoulder easily down their arm we have a few tips to help. To prevent this, try narrowing the fabric by folding the outside edge of the Peanut Shell™ over (in half again). This helps the fabric from scooting down your arm. Wearing a cotton shirt or other less slippery fabrics also helps to prevent this.
